Rick Long has dance roots originating in several styles from dancehall, jazz to hiphop. On top of his love and passion for dance; Rick's dance education is extensive. He has studied with the notable choreographers like the late Frank Hatchett as well as Wade Robinson.
Rick grew up around the arts and his love for music is endless. The arts have always been part of his upbringing in particular dance. He comes from a long line of dancers in his family including his mother. I guess it’s fair to say that dance is in his blood.
Since growing up around dancers and his formal training at legendary New York City dance studios such as Alvin Ailey Studios, Broadway Dance Center & Ripley Grier; Rick has traveled the country performing in over 50 major cities. Rick has danced and /or choreographed for artists such as Daddy Yankee, Salt-N-Pepa, Trey Songz, and SWV. He also appeared in the feature film Step Up 3D. His accomplishments clearly speak for themselves.
Presently Rick is the leading dancer and choreographer for 80’s Icon and multi platinum recording artist Lisa Lisa formally of the hit group Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam.
Dancers are athletes of the arts world. It is essential that dancers keep up with their bodies. Eating right, stretching and working out must be part of the daily routine. Rick always had discipline so it was only natural that he fell into the fitness training world.
Hence “GET RICK FIT” was created in 2019
Get Rick fit is a program that was created by Rick Long to get children and adults alike in shape mentally, physically, and spiritually.
It’s an affordable program that provide workout plans that can be implemented everywhere including your living room. Mr. Long is also a mentor to children donating his time to giving kids dance lessons, swimming instruction, and physical education. It was important for Rick to provide the same opportunities he was afforded as a boy to kids who wouldn’t normally have access to it.
Rick is presently working on a series of work out instruction videos so his clients, fans, and followers will have access to him even when he’s on tour performing. He’s looking forward to sharing more of his talents with his fan base, students, followers and the world..
